SDCA General Assembly sends a strong signal for Switzerland’s digital future
On February 26, this year’s General Assembly of the Swiss Data Center Association (SDCA) took place in a special setting: at the invitation of our platinum partner Vertiv, members gathered at the historic Laufen Castle overlooking the Rhine Falls — an impressive location for groundbreaking discussions on Switzerland’s digital future.
In addition to the official agenda, Vertiv provided exciting insights into current developments in artificial intelligence and digital infrastructure. In particular, the strategic importance of data centers for digital sovereignty was highlighted and an outlook on international trends – especially from the USA – was given.
Important decisions in the association’s leadership
The General Assembly also brought significant personnel changes:
Newly elected to the Board of Directors were:
- Nicola Moresi, Owner & CEO, DC Moresi (Ticino)
- Urs Bürgisser, Sales Manager CH & AT, Equinix
- Roger Semprini, Chief Commercial Officer, Vaultica Data Centers
Sergio Milesi, President of the SDCA, and board member Heiko Siats have decided to leave the association after many years of dedicated service.
After five successful years at the helm, Sergio Milesi (CEO of GAS&COM) handed over the presidency to Roger Süess, CEO of the Green Group.
The SDCA would like to express its sincere thanks to Sergio Milesi for his formative commitment and significant contribution to the establishment and further development of the association, and to Heiko Siats for his many years of valuable commitment to the Swiss data center industry.

Growth and clear priorities
The SDCA recorded strong growth last year. In addition to additional data center operators, more and more companies from the technology, energy, and services sectors have joined the association—a clear sign of the growing importance of the industry for Switzerland’s digital performance.
The SDCA has set clear priorities for the coming months:
- Recognition of data centers as critical infrastructure
- Intensification of dialogue with political decision-makers
- Further expansion of technical and specialist working groups
The General Assembly showed once again that the industry is coming together to actively shape Switzerland’s digital future. We would like to thank all members and partners for the inspiring discussions and strong community spirit.
Many thanks to Mr. Stefano Mozzato, VP Marketing EMEA at Vertiv, for the organization and hospitality.
